Responsibilities

The Finance Department provides the financial and employee payroll functions for all City departments. 

Financial functions include accounts payable and receivable processing, daily deposits and cash management, coordination of the monthly billing and collection of utility services, processing of bond and grant proceeds, debt service payments, and capital projects tracking and planning. The Finance Department provides continual monitoring of the budget, coordination of the fiscal audit report, and oversees the annual preparation of the new budget.  Payroll functions include the processing of bi-weekly payrolls, tax reporting, and more.

Integrity Standards

The Finance Department maintains the integrity of all financial and accounting systems in accordance with local ordinances, state standards, federal laws, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles as defined by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

FY24 Budget

The total city tax rate proposed for fiscal year ‘24 will be decreasing from the current year of $11.18908 to $11.07553.
