Find your next fishing spot in Grimes! The City of Grimes works with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to keep public ponds stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish.

Rules

Permits

Anyone over the age of 16 needs a fishing license. These are available to purchase from the DNR’s website or through the DNR app

Keeping Fish

These ponds follow the statewide harvest regulations. That means you can keep up to three largemouth bass (must be 15 inches), 25 bluegills, and eight channel catfish.
