The Grimes City Council voted to annex 706 acres of property located along NW and SW County Line Road. This area is located on the western and northwestern edge of Grimes and has the potential to be developed into residential neighborhoods, commercial developments, or new parks.
“This is exciting for the City of Grimes as it represents an opportunity for the City to continue growing,” said Development Services Director Alex Pfaltzgraff. “Growth will allow for more services, parks, and amenities for our existing and future residents.”
The City has already invested in infrastructure to support these areas and will continue to invest with the installation of new water mains in 2023 and 2024.
The City Development Board, a separate state entity, will consider this annexation at their next available meeting.
