Water Conservation Tips

Using water efficiently can equate easily to savings in your pocketbook. That's not the only reason to conserve water. Water is a valuable resource many people tend to take advantage of. In many places throughout the United States and the world, water is in short supply. While we are not acutely lacking water, Iowa is in a shortage zone.

In the summers of 2006 and 2007, the City of Grimes experienced record high water usage. To combat the peak times that are rapidly taking demand near the plant’s capacity, the Water and Pollution Control Department launched its Smart Water program. Landscape usage is the best way to target peak usage.
